REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial Massage is a therapeutic clinical treatment designed to target the cause of pain resulting from muscular-skeletal imbalances, disorders and injuries. It involves a more detailed assessment, including postural analysis and functional tests.

Generally a deep form of massage, utilising a variety of specific techniques that assist with treatment of conditions as frozen shoulder, tennis/golfers elbow, rotator cuff injuries, back and neck pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches and sporting injuries.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle and relaxing treatment using specific strokes to boost the flow of fluid within the body.
The lymphatic system is the body's filtering system. It processes all toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis including car fumes, hair dyes as well as residual bacteria and viruses from the cells. It has twice as many vessels as the circulatory system but does not have a pump to move the fluid around the body and can therefore become congested.

MLD is beneficial in boosting the body's immune system and is an effective treatment for fatigue, headaches, fibromyalgia, polymyalgia, chronic pain, fluid retention, detoxing and sports injuries.

RELAXATION MASSAGE

Stress affects every system in the body. Even short periods of stress can have a significant impact on our health. If untreated, chronic stress can lead to serious health conditions such as diabetes, stroke, heart disease, headaches, insomnia, fatigue and depression as well as reducing our immunity. Stress hormones can switch off our natural killer cells which are our first line of defense in fighting viruses and can significantly affect how well our body repairs.

Research shows that a minimum of 15 minutes of massage along the spine is enough to take the body out of a stress response and allow the body to rest, recover and regenerate. A relaxation massage is a powerful tool in combating the affects of stress. It is lighter in pressure and includes long flowing strokes that promote relaxation and a sense of wellbeing.

NEUROMUSCULAR THERAPY/TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

NMT provides an effect therapy in treating injuries, pain, postural imbalances, restricted movement and restoring balance within the muscular system.

A large percentage of aches and pains within the body can be tracked back to a neuromuscular issue. This includes headaches, muscle weakness, numbness and tingling and widespread pain. NMT utilises deeper techniques and specific movements designed to increase circulation to specific muscles to reduce spasms, inflammation, desensitize nerves and remove muscular restrictions. It is generally a deeper form of massage designed as a treatment for a wide range of conditions.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Pregnancy is a time of significant change in a woman's life. Her body goes through major changes and every system is affected.

Massage has proven to be beneficial to both mother and baby. It is a gentle massage that provides deep relaxation and stress relief whilst stimulating circulation, soothing muscular discomfort through each stage of the baby's development and reducing fluid retention commonly associated with pregnancy. For new mothers, pregnancy massage offers relief of stress and anxiety and promotes more restful sleep.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is ideal for those putting their body's to the test. It is designed to prepare an athlete for performance whilst preventing injuries, reducing muscle tension and swelling. Regular sports massage will boost circulation to boost muscle regeneration and repair whilst reducing build up of waste materials as lactic acid and metabolites. Sports massage is essential for muscle health and performance.

What Our Clients Are Saying

“I met Amanda when she was offering free massage demonstrations at the Mt Maunganui market. After 15 minutes I felt that she had connected with my body and had an understanding of what was happening. She went on teach my body to heal my long-term chronic neck pain, finding the underlying causes. Today, I am feeling the best I have in over 6 years with continued improvement. I cannot express highly enough Amanda’s skill and professionalism with her dedication to her clients.” - Michelle Webb (International Figure Skater and Coach)
